Practicing law for more than 35 years, Stuart Bollefer works as a senior tax partner at Aird & Berlis, LLP, in Toronto. With the law firm since 2000, he meets with high net-worth clients and owner/managers to help them maximize tax efficiencies. Stuart Bollefer does this through the use of family trusts, tax-planned wills, and spousal trusts, among other strategies. Prior to working for Aird & Berlis, Stuart Bollefer worked with Morris/Rose/Ledgett, also in Toronto.
He began at the firm as an associate lawyer and became partner after just two years. Stuart works with clients who own their own corporations and helps them structure their companies to reduce ongoing taxes as well as when the company is sold. Stuart also works extensively in cross border investments into and from the United States as well as assisting structuring business and investments in other parts of the world.
Stuart Bollefer earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. While there, he played on the university’s varsity basketball team for two years. He also won the gold medal in political science during his senior year. After he graduated, he attended the highly regarded law school at the University of Toronto where he earned his degree in law. Along with this studies, he spent three years as a member of the University of Toronto Law basketball team.
